Community Parade
- All Parade Participants are asked to register online to be eligible for prizes and judging.
- Detours will be in place from 11:55 AM until the parade’s completion.
- Parade starts at 12 noon, children will leave from the old Cable Building on Central Avenue (look for flags in the parking area) between Veteran’s Memorial Court and River Street and will end at the Fire Hall.
- VOLUNTEERS will direct floats, cars and walkers with their starting location.
- Walking entries and Cars leave from bottom of MacLean Street. Cars can turn left on River Street and will flow into the parade traffic at River Street and MacLean Street. There will be a volunteer at River and MacLean Street to direct this traffic.
- Floats meet at Inverness County Centre for the Arts by 11:30 AM and travel down MacLean Street.
PLEASE NOTE: Floats are requested to turn right from Central Avenue onto the dirt road that leads up to the Inverness Arts Centre. This road leads to MacLean Street where floats will line up. There will be volunteers directing parade participants. - Walkers, Vintage Cars and Floats and travel across Main Street, up Maple Street, loop into Inverary Manor (to give residents a close up look at the parade) and can stay in this area or leave around the Manor and down Hospital Street. You are also welcome to travel around the outer part of the racetrack toward the Arena.
- Awards and prizes will be announced after the parade at the Inverness Arena. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
- Family Games, Cotton Candy and Fun at the Arena from 1-3:30 PM
NOTE:The throwing of candy from the parade route (walkers, cars, floats) is strictly prohibited out of safety concerns. You are welcome to pass out candy, freezies, treats, etc.All participants are encouraged to wear sunscreen and carry water, especially if it’s a hot and sunny day.
